The Mercedes-Benz Museum, located at the brand's headquarters in Stuttgart, has announced that 2024 was a record year for visitations.
A total of 882,422 guests visited the museum in the year, making it the most popular year for the site since it opened in 2006. This value is said to be a 10% increase on the number of visitations in 2023. Primary locations which visitors hailed from include France, China and the U.S.A. The museum also welcomed its 13 millionth visitor since its opening on 12 September 2024.
A host of activities are planned for the site for 2025. These include the hosting of a new 'Pit Stop' hands-on activity that is said to require lightning-fast precision work when changing wheels with real Formula One tyres. This activity will be held in the museum's Legend Room 7: Silver Arrows - Races and Records.
From 11 April to 2 November 2025, a special 'Youngtimer' exhibition will also be held, showcasing ten Mercedes-Benz vehicles from the 1990s to 2000s. These vehicles will be exhibited in thematic display islands that convey the lifestyle and everyday culture surrounding the vehicles. The Mercedes-Benz Museum is also set to offer free admission come International Museum Day on 18 May 2025, and play host to a big family day on 13 July 2025, where it will offer a variety of programmes on the hill in front of the museum.
