ABT creates a parting gift for the outgoing Golf GTI

The Golk GTI is a truly remarkable car. Especially when fitted with ABT tuning kits, they are a class of their own.

Like most ABT models, the Mk6 Golf GTI gets the signature diffuser housing quadruple tailpipes, while the 'red rings' on alloys induce sporty character

The two-stage tuning kit significantly increases the power output of the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine from 208bhp to a high of 256bhp. The power upgrade is possible thanks to a a reprogrammed ECU. Stage Two tuning raises the bar by lifting power to an astonishing 306bhp.

A new sports suspension has also been developed by ABT, lowering the ride height by 25mm. On top of the massive power, the Stage Two kit also provides a new braking system, starring 345 mm discs.

No ABT tuning package is complete without cosmetic enhancements. The limited edition Mk6 Golf GTI is fitted with an aerodynamic body kit that comprises of a front apron, lip spoiler, LED daytime running lights, rear diffuser, roof spoiler and the ABT signature four-pipe exhaust system, among other updates.

'Turbine' fan blade design alloys, splashed with red detailing, complete the aesthetic package. No pricing information was revealed by ABT at press time.

A-Star German tuning company - ABT Sportsline has a 'send off' gift of sorts for the Mk6 Golf GTI. A final tuning programme has been launched for the outgoing Golf GTI, which was unveiled at the 2012 Essen Motor Show.
