Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale nets design award

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has net the Design Concept Award at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, a move which Alfa Romeo states, confirms the car's status and a unique and unrepeatable work of art in motion.

The firm states that this is its fifth car to have received the award, following the Brera, the 8C Competizione, 8C Spider, TZ3, and Alfa Romeo 4C Concept. The firm is also said to be the only manufacturer that has won both the Coppa d'Oro and Design Concept Award at the event in the same year, with the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 and Alfa Romeo Brera in 2002, and the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS and Alfa Romeo 4C Concept in 2012.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is based on the Tipo 33, a car widely considered as being amongst one of the most beautiful of all time. Only 33 examples of the new 33 Stradale are being made, all produced according to a unique artisanal process, exactly the same way as in Renaissance artisan boutiques, and in the 1960s workshops of renowned Italian coachbuilders.
