Aston Martin set to reveal new V12-powered Vanquish

Aston Martin is all set to revive the Vanquish name. After placing the Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre V8 in its DB12, the firm has now strongly hinted that it will be festooning its next Vanquish with a V12 engine, a preview of which is available to watch (and listen to) in the video embedded below.
And the firm has the numbers to accompany this video: It states that the engine will develop a total of 824bhhp, alongside a total of 1,000Nm of torque. Those figures should be more than enough to trouble even the mighty Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance.
The firm states that this engine is the product of a "complete redesign, targeting optimisation, and improvement", and features new hardware including a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads, reprofiled camshafts, and new intake and exhaust ports. The engine also gets new turbochargers to facilitate the increased performance and for greater throttle response.
We take all this to mean that this new unit will share little with the 5.2-litre V12 that used to power the 2018 V12 Vantage. Aston Martin further states that the new engine will be handcrafted, year by year, in strictly limited numbers.
Expect the new V12 to appear in a new flagship model which is set to make its debut come late 2024.
