Audi has made history by clinching victory at the Dakar Rally with the all-electric RS Q e-tron.
The winning vehicle was piloted by Spaniards Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz, both of whom secured Audi's first victory in the Dakar Rally after having been in the lead without interruption since the sixth stage. The team is said to have been closely pursued by Sebastien Loeb and Fabian Lurquin from Team BRX, who continued to close the gap until their car suffered damage on the penultimate day of the rally.
The Audi RS Q e-tron conquered daily stages of more than 400km, two marathon stages with limited or even no service, as well as 4,600 timed kilometers and covered 7,883km in total to complete the 2024 Dakar Rally. This distance also saw the vehicle enduring terrain including sharp scree and gravel roads alongside the dunes of the Empty Quarter of the Arabian Peninsula.
The Audi RS Q e-tron was first unveiled in July 2021, and secures its victory at the Dakar Rally after having competed since the 2022 iteration of the event.
