Audi opens first Tokyo charging hub

After opening countless charging hubs in Germany, Audi has now expanded the franchise outside of Europe with Tokyo's first fast charging hub.
The new charging hub in the capital of Japan now offers owners of electric cars the opportunity to charge at up to 150kW via a total of four charging points. As with the other Audi charging hubs, this one also makes use of a battery storage system that places a low demand on the local power grid.
The system stores electricity when there is little load on the power grid, such as during the night, facilitating fast charging speeds without the need for high-voltage supply lines and costly transformers. The charging station in Tokyo also only uses electricity from renewable sources.
The new charging hub is located in the Kioicho business district, which Audi states, is close to offices, shopping facilities, and cafes, offering customers a host of options to spend their time while charging their vehicles. The hub is also adjacent to Audi City Kioicho, the firm's showroom for electric vehicles in the Japanese capital.
Residents of Toyko will also be pleased to note that Audi is already planning a second charging hub for the city, set to be built in the Shiba koen district, the location of the famous Tokyo Tower. Audi has already opened six Audi charging hubs in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The hubs are in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Nuremberg, Salzburg, and Zurich.
