The first car to be presented in Audi's inaugural virtual car launch in Singapore, Audi Live, is the latest iteration of the new Audi A4.
The Audi A4 represents the core of the brand, and Audi has made the successful midsize model even tauter and sportier. For Singapore, all variants now come with mild hybrid (MHEV) systems, delivering efficiency and comfort benefits.
The Singleframe grille with its sculpted cross bars is now broader and flatter, horizontal lines emphasise the width at the front and rear, making it appear sporty and wide. The low roof line begins to fall away again at an early stage. With the Sedan, the broadened rear side window makes the cabin seem longer and the pillar more slender.
At the rear, which also has a markedly three-dimensional design, a continuous chrome strip connects the lights, again emphasises the impression of width. Two trapezoidal tailpipe trims that are embedded in the diffuser insert form the end of the exhaust system.
The new head lights in the Audi A4 are available in Singapore in two versions. LED head lights are standard in the Audi A4, featuring LED technology with additionally upgraded daytime running lights, a daytime running light signature, additional functions such as freeway and intelligent cornering lights and dynamic indicators in the rear lights. The top-of-the-line system featuring the Matrix LED technology with fully automatic high beam will be available for order.
Audi will be offering the new A4 and A4 Avant with two 2.0-litre TFSI engine choices, rated at 148bhp and 188bhp. Both feature a MHEV system based on 12V to deliver even better real-world efficiency than before while improving comfort.
In everyday operation, the MHEV system reduces fuel consumption by up to 0.3L/100km according to individual Audi measurements. Later on, a third variant with 246bhp and a quattro drivetrain will be added to the portfolio.
The interior of the Audi A4 models feels large and generous and combines lightness and high tech features. The upper edges of the instrument panel and door trims surround the interior as a wrap-around, without leaving the driver and passengers feeling confined.
Sport and S Sport seats are available as alternatives to the standard seats. Power adjustment are standard for the front, with the driver's side featuring memory settings to provide even greater convenience. The steering wheel has a three-spoke design and is equipped with multifunction buttons as well as shift paddles. On request, a flat-bottomed design is also available.
The equipment line concept is new. For the exterior, they are now called basic and advanced line. They can be freely combined with the interior lines (basic, design selection and S line). In Singapore, the A4 comes with 17-inch wheels as standard. Upon request, Audi will supplement the advanced exterior with the black styling package and door handles with chrome strips.
Customers can also choose from nine exterior colours, including a new terra grey option. The range of colours and trims separated into the basic, design selection and S line interior package lines have new colours and combinations to offer.
With its new MMI system, the highly connected Audi A4 offers a user experience similar to a contemporary smartphone, accessed via a 10.1-inch touch display.
With the MMI navigation plus, which is standard for Singapore, the voice control uses knowledge from the cloud in addition to the data stored on-board. The top-of-the-line all-digital Audi virtual cockpit plus is also standard for Singapore. The driver can switch between three view modes on the 12.3-inch screen - classic view, sport mode and dynamic mode.
The MMI plus also comes with the Audi connect services. Features like emergency call, online traffic and weather updates come as standard.
This package also features the convenient remote services - these allow control certain functions to be controlled via the myAudi app using a smartphone. The free myAudi app connects the customer's smartphone seamlessly to the car enabling the driver to check on the status of the vehicle remotely.
With the Audi A4, it is not only the software that is diverse and attractive but also the range of hardware. The Audi music interface with USB and Bluetooth connection is part of the standard MMI radio. The Audi smartphone interface brings Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and thus the familiar smartphone environment into the vehicle. This feature is standard for Singapore.
