Back to basics: Skoda honours heritage with UCI partnership

More associated with automobiles nowadays, Skoda can trace its roots all the way back to 1895, when the Laurin & Klement (L&K) company was founded and started out by producing bicycles under the "Slavia" brand.

Thus, it's no surprise that it has a long history of sponsoring major global cycling events, and it continues that tradition in 2025, with Skoda announcing a partnership with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). This will see the Czech automobile brand serve as an Official Partner to the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and the UCI Gravel World Championships.

The 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships will take place in the Swiss canton of Valais, Switzerland, from 30 August to 14 September 2025. Meanwhile, the UCI Gravel World Championships are scheduled for October 2025 in the South Limburg region of the Netherlands.

At the UCI Championship venues, Skoda will offer dedicated areas for visitors and fans, showcasing a selection of electrified models including all-electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV).
