Bentley joins global body for responsibly-sourced leather

Bentley has announced that it has become the first automotive member of Leather Naturally, an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting the use of certified, properly sourced leather as a natural by-product of a responsible circular economy.
The new partnership is but the latest of a host of initiatives from the luxury automotive manufacturer as it continues to work towards becoming a global leader in sustainable luxury mobility. The firm was also the first automotive member of the Leather Working Group, which promotes responsible business practices and environmental compliance within the leather industry, when it joined in 2021.
Bentley currently offers its customers the option to have their cars complete with a sustainable leather option, which makes use of a sustainable tanning process that utilises an organic by-product of the olive oil industry. This olive mill waste water tanned leather is produced with tanning agents free of harmful heavy metals, minerals and aldehydes.
