2024 has been an exciting year for the BMW brand. The firm has seen the opening of two refreshed showrooms here in Singapore (see here and here), organised a host of drives up into Malaysia (such as this one), and launched of a host of exciting cars to boot, all within this year alone.
But the excitement is yet to end. Over the course of the weekend starting from 15 November 2024, customers and friends of the brand are expected to converge onto 25 Pasir Panjang Road to visit BMW Joy City, a celebration of all things BMW.
Those participating in the driving sessions of BMW Joy City will be able to get behind the wheel of vehicles including the iX1, 2 Series Gran Coupe, and the X2, while taxi rides are set to be offered in cars including the i4 M50, M2, and M135
Attendees to the event will be able to see the latest BMW M models to arrive here in Singapore including the M5, M135 xDrive, and the M4 CS, alongside a host of other BMW models.
But to kick off the festivities during the afternoon of 14 November was an exclusive media preview that saw members of the media taking a host of BMW vehicles through a host of driving exercises.
These exercises included slalom and acceleration manoeuvres in vehicles including a 3 Series Sedan and the X2. Those present on the Thursday afternoon also got to put BMW's all-wheel drive technology to the test in some of the firm's SUVs including the X6, X5, and the X1, which all had to surmount a host of artificial ramps and obstacles specially set up outside the power station.
Those with an Exhibition Access Pass will be able to see a wide range of BMW vehicles up close, all divided into a host of themed 'streets' at BMW Joy City
And once everyone had their fill of the day's scorching sun (as well as a passing shower), we were taken back indoors where the vibrant 'streets' of the BMW Joy City awaited with the firm's enthralling lineup of cars.
These streets included the M Garage, where models including the M2 Coupe and the M3 Touring were proudly on display. Fans of classic BMWs, meanwhile, were drawn to Legacy Lane, where a selection of BMW models from the 1980s including the M535i (E12) and the E36 M3 Coupe stood available to admire.
A host of driving sessions are set to continue through the weekend for those who already have secured their tickets to the event, so don't be too surprised if you catch the screeching of tyres if you're around the area.
And for those who didn't manage to secure tickets, there's no need to fret. We suspect 2025 is set to be just as exciting a year for the brand.
