At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, BYD showcased a full-sized concept SUV, named Dynasty-D, from its Dynasty Series of models.
Built with BYD's evolved Dragon Face design language, this full-size SUV concept fuses Chinese aesthetics with innovation to showcase a bold new vision for the Dynasty Series.
The Dynasty-D's front design features the industry's longest integrated lightbar, measuring 2,400mm, with zero gaps and seamless sculpting. Inspired by traditional palace eaves, the light signature mimics a dragon's whiskers. Eight square-pupil headlamps on each side further amplify its frontal appearance. At the concept SUV's rear, a world-first 3D Chinese knot tail-light merges with phoenix-feather motifs to mirror its front.
Its side profile adopts brushstroke-like contours and is complemented by skirt panels and form transitions. The Dynasty-D's 23-inch wheels draw inspiration from the dome of the Temple of Heaven, symbolising cultural pride and majestic presence.
BYD describes the design of the Dynasty D's interior as "a moving cultural gallery", incorporating elements from the Silk Road by blending bamboo inlays, traditional paper techniques, and hand-applied gold leaf from Chinese intangible heritage crafts.
The Dynasty-D will enter the full-size SUV segment with a 5,300mm-long body, offering premium users a luxurious and intelligent all-scenario mobility experience.
Also on show were BYD's next-generation flagship EV models: The HAN L and TANG L, which are built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and support "megawatt fast charging", and a co-branded modified vehicle with Black Myth: Wukong.
