BYD sees total sales for 2023 crossing three million mark

BYD has announced that it has sold more than three million vehicles in 2023, a figure which it states places it as the leader for global new energy vehicle sales for the second year in a row.

The firm states that this figure also places it among the global top 10 brands by volume, while allowing the brand to retain its position as the best-selling manufacturer in China. BYD is reported to have sold a total of 1.8 million vehicles in 2022.

Its Dynasty and Ocean series (the latter of which includes the Dolphin and Seal), saw a total of 2,877,353 units sold in 2023, marking a 55.3% increase from 2022.

BYD states that its exports grew by 334.2% in 2023 to reach a total 242,765 units. The firm's reach, meanwhile, has now grown to over 70 countries on six continents.
