Casio Edifice is now offering fans of the Mugen brand what could be a dream timepiece. The firm has revealed its latest addition to its lineup, the ECB-40MU.
Designed in collaboration with Mugen and the Honda works brand, the timepiece celebrates Mugen's 50th anniversary and utilises Mugen's brand colours of white, red, gold, and black on its dial, band loop, as well as the stitching on its band. All these are set against an overall black design.
The ECB-40MU also features the Mugen and Eye Commander logo, the latter of which symbolises the spirit of Mugen, embossed on its band. The timepiece also utilises the same font that is used on the shift knobs made by Mugen for its engravings.
Motorsport-inspired touches here include the use of a carbon-fibre reinforced resin case, while the use of a four-lug design is inspired by the suspension used in Formula One cars. The band of the watch is also made of Alcantara, a material utilised in the interiors of many sports cars.
The ECB-40MU can be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth, providing automatic time correction, as well as access to a host of other functions.
The new ECB-40MU is priced at $499 and will be available from Casio's online store here, as well as via Edifice retailers, and G-Shock stores here in Singapore from 1 September 2023.
