Commuters to expect heavy traffic and delays at checkpoints from Friday

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has advised commuters to expect heavy traffic flow and delays at both its land checkpoints at Tuas and Woodlands from Friday evening, the 11th of October, till Hari Raya Haji on Tuesday, 15th October 2013.
Besides an increased number of commuters, enhanced security checks is another vital reason for unavoidable traffic build-up between the recommended periods. ICA has also reminded commuters to maintain lane discipline, engage in car-pooling or utilise public transportation in a bid to ease the expected jams.
It is advisable to plan your commute after monitoring traffic conditions through One Motoring or from LTA's Expressway Monitoring & Advisory System (EMAS) installed along the AYE and BKE respectively. Additionally drivers may also call the traffic information hotline at 6863-0117 or listen to TrafficWatch on the radio.
