The Shell FuelSave Challenge is a driving competition from Shell to educate drivers on fuel-saving and efficient driving methods through various educational pit stops. The Challenge mimics everyday journeys and demonstrates how simple changes to driving habits, when paired with the right fuel, can make a difference in saving fuel for the entire family.

The winning team of Karrin Lim and Roy Lee on day one achieved an average fuel efficiency of 20.8km/L by driving a total distance of 72.3km. Day two winners, Ferdinand Lai and Annette Phay clocked 20.5km/L after driving 70.2km. Both winning couples walked away with S$2,000 worth of Shell fuel vouchers each.
Mr. Roy Lee and Ms. Karrin Lim, who achieved 20.8km/L this year, commented, "We wanted to participate in the Shell FuelSave Challenge 2013 because we wanted to learn more from Shell as they are the experts in fuel efficiency. During the Challenge, we applied the Shell FuelSave tips to ensure that we drove efficiently and safely on the road instead of rushing to our destination. We definitely had fun with the experience."
General Manager, Retail Sales & Operations, Shell Singapore, Mr Louis Tan, cited, "This weekend's results reinforce the fact that by applying the Shell FuelSave tips, and combined with the use of Shell FuelSave, one can really make a difference in fuel efficiency. We are also very encouraged by the positive response to this Challenge. We will certainly look at having more of such fun and educational activities in the future to help drivers in Singapore become expert fuel-savers."
Participants of The Challenge were trying to achieve maximum fuel efficiencies on a 1.4-litre Volkswagen Jetta Sport TSI - sponsored by Volkswagen Group Singapore Pte Ltd. With its official combined fuel consumption of 16.6km/L, the Jetta Sport 1.4-litre TSI was a natural choice for the Shell FuelSave Challenge.
