Cupra now has a new brand ambassador.
Joining Olympic Champion Adam Peaty as a Cupra Brand Repreentative, is J.A. Bayona, one of the youngest directors to achieve international success.
The Film Director made his directorial debut with The Orphanage, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and won seven Goyas. He also headed films including The Impossible, and the more recent Society of the Snow, alongside television shows including A Monster Calls, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Penny Dreadful, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Cupra states that the new appointment is a further reinforcement of its link to the world of film after it became the official automotive partner of the Sitges Film Festival. It also states that it hopes to boost creative talent from Barcelona as a result of the new appointment.
To this end, both Cupra and J.A. Bayona and the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia will launch two competitions designed to find young creative talent and boost their careers in the world of cinema.
The first competition will be for short films, aimed at young talents aged between 17 and 23. The winner of this competition will get a full scholarship to develop their cinematographic talent at the school. The second contest is aimed at young people aged between 21 and 30 who have completed a degree, master's degree or who are former students of the film and audiovisual school. This competition will be held annually, and the winner will receive support to produce and promote their short film.
