Cupra Tindaya showcar unveiled at IAA Mobility 2025

Among a host of unveilings by Cupra at the 2025 IAA Mobility event is its Tindaya showcar, which displayed the brand's future design language.
Named after a volcanic mountain from the Canary Islands, the Tindaya showcar's livery was inspired by its copper-toned rock.
Its front-end features a pronounced shark nose, flanked by aerodynamic keels that guide airflow into the side intakes. Its instantly recognisable "front black mask" features a Cupra logo offering constant illuminated motion, which is flanked by the Tindaya bonnet's power dome forks on both sides.
A sharp line runs with a striking wedge, from the front bumper through the side, giving the body an athletic shoulder that catches light, creating a strong contrast with the sculpted body. This line continues forming carved air channels behind the front wheels, ending against the rear shoulders, compressing the body before the rear shoulder starts.
The Cupra Tindaya showcar's matt body colour shifts from front to rear, flowing from deep metallic grey to a soft beige. Crystal clear transparent elements are seamlessly integrated into the body and subtly illuminated in a digital copper tone. On its roof, 3D-printed structural parts in aluminium allow the design to adapt organically to its flowing lines.
Inside, at the heart of the driver-centric cockpit lies the "Driver Axis", a sculpted dashboard that frames a 24-inch freeform display. Its racing and gaming inspired steering wheel features satellite buttons. And at its core sits "The Jewel", a sensory and symbolic interface that awakens the vehicle, adjusts driving modes, and transforms the atmosphere through lighting, sound, and ambient responses.
In addition, the Tindaya's seats and central console are upholstered in a sustainable bio-attributed leather. And in a dynamic gesture, the central console transitions from soft to hard materials toward the rear.
Of the Tindaya's design, Cupra stated that while many move away from the driver, it doubles down on what it believes matter most: The connection behind the wheel.
