David Donohue to set Venom F5 up for new speed records

Texas-based hypercar manufacturer Hennessy has hired celebrated 24 Hours of Le Mans champion, Rolex 24 at Daytona overall winner, and 2023 Pikes Peak record setter David Donohue as its test driver to prepare the Venom F5 to set new speed records.

Donohue is not new to the world of supercar development. His 35-year career has included development work on cars including the BMW M3 GT and BMW M5, as well as the Dodge Viper GTS-R and Porsche GT3 R Pikes Peak EVO, alongside a host of NASCAR trucks and Daytona prototypes.

Donohue is taking on the new appointment after spending the past decade as a private driving coach, vintage racing driver, and Porsche 918 Spyder Client Relationship Manager for Porsche Cars North America.

The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster hypercar made its debut at the Monterey Car Week in August, joining the Venom F5 Revolution Coupe which was unveiled in January 2023.
