Porsche has concluded its Dubai's Icons of Porsche festival.
The event saw a total of 27,000 attendees, all of whom were treated to a showcase of classic cars alongside a host of art and cultural displays marking the 75th anniversary of Porsche, as well as 60 years of the 911.
Those who attended the event also got to see the new Panamera as it made its first public debut, while a special Sonderwunsch 911, created to pay homage to the first ever 911 Turbo, was also present.
Created as a collaboration between Style Porsche, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, and the Porsche Middle East and Africa regional office with support from Porsche's Heritage and Museum. The special 911 Turbo takes its inspiration from '911 Turbo Nr. 1', which was commissioned for Louise Piech, daughter of Ferdinand Porsche, and given to Louise Piech for her 70th birthday.
The car is said to make use of the narrow-chassis 911 Carrera body yet features the large rear wing of the Turbo. It also mirrors the historic car with its use of a silver exterior finish alongside a Tartan fabric and red interior - touches handpicked by Piech on the historic car.
The festival also saw the Dubai Design District getting a new addition - an inflatable Porsche 911, visible from several kilometres away. Measuring almost 20m long, six metres tall, and eight meters wide, this bright red sports car is said to have officially achieved a new Guinness World Record for the 'largest inflatable vehicle'.
Attendees at the event also got to see the 718 Spyder RS and Vision 357 Speedster concept as they made their regional debuts. The all-electric Mission X hypercar concept, a 911 S/T and a host of cars from the Porsche Museum collection were also on display across the eight festival zones.
