FC Barcelona Women's team take delivery of their Cupras

Cupra has handed over a fleet of cars to the FC Barcelona Women's team.

The firm visited FC Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper - the training facilities of the FC Barcelona Women's team - to present each of the players with one of the brand's latest launches. The players were offered either the Cupra Born, the firm's first all-electric vehicle, or the Cupra Formentor VZ5 BAT Limited Edition (catch our review of the regular Cupra Formentor here).

Those who opted for the Cupra Formentor VZ5 BAT included Aitana Bonmati and Global Cupra brand ambassador Alexia Putellas. The fully-electric Cupra Born, meanwhile, was chosen by players like Maria Leon, Irene Paredes, Marta Torrejon and Ona Batlle.

The firm states that it is supporting FC Barcelona Women, as the team underlines the brand's ambition to inspire the world from Barcelona and serve as outstanding role models for young talents.

The Cupra Formentor VZ5 BAT features a five-cylinder engine that delivers 385bhp. Production of the Cupra Formentor VZ5 BAT is limited to 500 units, marking it out as the most exclusive version in the lineup.

The Cupra Born, meanwhile, embodies the brand's commitment to offering electrification with an emotional edge. The car is said to be Cupra's second best-selling vehicle on the market this year, and offers an all-electric range of up to 540km alongside a sleek exterior design.
