Ford Mustang GT to get a new 5.0-litre V8

The Mustang GT’s new engine will have a power output of 412bhp and a peak torque figure of 542Nm. The new 31 valve unit will be made from aluminium and is codenamed Coyote. Along with the new engine, the Mustang GT will get a new Track Pack to help it keep up with its rivals around corners as well.
Ford has not revealed full details about the new Mustang GT, but it is rumoured that the car will also get a new transmission to replace its existing 5-speed transmission, with new 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes expected to be offered. The new Mustang will be officially launched at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show next month.
