Ford Ranger to race in 2024 Dakar Rally

Ford has announced that it will be taking part in the iconic Dakar Rally come 2024.
And it will be participating with this custom-built Ranger, designed and built to Dakar's T1+ class regulations.
Based on the previous generation global Ford Ranger, the performance truck is built in collaboration with Ford Performance and M-Sport and comes powered with a 3.5-litre EcoBoost engine (read more about the current-generation Ford Ranger here). The truck is expected to participate in a host of test races including Spain's Baja Espana Aragon and Morocco's Rally du Maroc rallies in July and October 2023.
The Ford Ranger T1+ will not only add to Ford's now sweeping motorsports resume, but offer an opportunity for Ford Performance to learn in collaboration with longtime partners M-Sport and Neil Woolridge Motorsport the fields of vehicle development, servicing and event management. It will then develop 'bad-ass' variants of the Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor to forge the way for Ford Performance's expansion into global off-road racing.
