Four new Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) gantries along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) will start charging motorists from 4th August.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Tuesday that traffic speeds along AYE between Jurong Town Hall Road and North Buona Vista Road during the morning and evening peak hours were still below the optimal range.
Hence, three new ERP gantries will charge motorists heading towards the city $2 after Jurong Town Hall, on Clementi Avenue 6 and Clementi Avenue 2 slip roads leading to the highway between 7:30am and 9:00am.
These gantries will charge $1 in the evening between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
Motorists passing through the gantry after North Buona Vista Road in the direction of Tuas in the evening will be charged $1 between 6:00pm and 6:30pm, and $2 between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.
The LTA has also announced changes to ERP rates in its latest quarterly review. Motorists heading towards the city on East Coast Parkway (ECP) between 7:30am and 8:00am will no longer have to pay ERP, down from $1 previously. This will also affect those entering the ECP via the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE).
Motorists travelling towards the west on the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) before Maxwell Road exit and slip road to Marina Coastal Drive between 8:30am and 9:00am will pay $2, down from $3 previously.
