Genesis has unveiled its first dedicated electric vehicle, the GV60.
The GV60 offers electric performance in with a sleek and athletic coupe crossover utility vehicle body.
At the front it gets Genesis' Two Lines headlamps, while the Genesis signature Crest Grille also sits low in order to accommodate the cooling requirements of the Hyundai Group's Electric-Global Modular Platform.
The GV60 also utilises a clamshell hood, giving the car a sleek impression. A gently sloping coupe roof profile ends with a distinctive fixed wing spoiler at the rear.
The central feature of the interior of the Genesis GV60 is its 'Crystal Sphere', which serves as the vehicle's mood lights when the vehicle is turned off, and as the vehicle's gear selector once it is switched on.
Customers will also be able to unlock the car simply by presenting their face to a camera on the B-pillar, thanks to a new Face Connect feature that allows the vehicle to recognise the driver's face.
The feature uses a near Infra-Red camera for accurate facial recognition under virtually any circumstances – including in the dark or when the weather is cloudy.

Adding to the technology suite of the Genesis GV60 is a Fingerprint Authentication System that allows drivers to start and drive the car.
The Genesis GV60 is available in three models: A standard rear-wheel drive model, a standard four-wheel drive model, and a performance model with four-wheel drive.
Each model comes with a 77.4kWh battery. The standard rear-wheel drive model offers a maximum driving range of 451km per charge. It is equipped with a 225bhp motor that delivers a maximum torque of 350Nm.
The standard all-wheel drive model is equipped with a 215bhp motor for its rear wheels and a 99bhp motor for its front wheels, providing a total output of 314bhp, a maximum torque of 605Nm, and a maximum driving range of 400km per charge.

For drivers who are looking for a more dynamic experience, the GV60 also features a Drift Mode.
The GV60 will also come with electric-Active Sound Design, a Genesis first. The system provides various virtual driving sounds through the speakers based on the driving mode, the vehicle's speed, and accelerator pedal data.
Charging at a 350kW direct current charger will bring the GV60's battery from 10% to an 80% state-of-charge in just 18 minutes. Maximum charging speed via alternating current is capped at 11kW.
