First introduced at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Honda Civic Hatchback Prototype made its Asian debut on Thursday, August 11th at 2016 Gaikindo Internasional Auto Show (GIIAS) held in Tangerang, from August 11th to 20th. The five-door version of the 10th generation Civic 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo will be launched in Indonesia in the first half of 2017.
Powered by the powerful yet efficient VTEC Turbo engine, the all new Civic Hatchback will be 30mm wider, 20mm lower and 130mm longer than the current generation. New larger and wider wheels and tyres give it a sporty stance, while the long wheelbase, short overhangs and sleek cabin mirror the car's dynamic exterior.
At the front of the car, its short overhang with large air intakes give it a sharp and aggressive stance. LED head lights and daytime running lights flow beneath the boldly sculpture bonnet into accentuated wheel arches.
It will be powered by an all new engine, one that joins Honda's growing Earth Dreams Technology range.
At the unveiling was Mr. Noriake Abe, Chief Operating Officer, Regional Operations of Honda Motor, and Mr. Tomoki Uchida, President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor, the official dealer for Honda in Indonesia. "We understand that the hatchback is one of the most popular segments in Indonesia, especially for youngsters. We are certain that the Civic Hatchback 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine will become the hottest hatchback in the Indonesian market, offering sport performance and advanced features like its sedan cousin," said Mr. Uchida.
