H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine join hands for exclusive watch

Alpine Motorsports and Swiss watchmaker, H. Moser & Cie., have collaborated for the first time ever to produce the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition.
The watch acts as a symbol of union between Alpine Motorsports and H. Moser & Cie., and was crafted to act as an ode to the aesthetic tastes of the stable's Formula One drivers and endurance racing team.
H. Moser & Cie chose its Streamliner collection to be the first model in its partnership with Alpine Motorsport. For this collaboration, H. Moser & Cie removed large portions of inessential material, creating a skeletonised version of the watch which allows its movements to be admired from all angles. This goes beyond aesthetics, and instead, serves as an ode to concepts of transparency and three-dimensionality.
Powered by a fully skeletonised automatic calibre HMC 811, the watch also features a large openworked gold rotor which can be seen oscillating. The movement of the gold rotor is further enhanced by the flying tourbillon, twirling under the sapphire crystal.
The star of the show - a one-minute flying tourbillon - is fitted with a cylindrical hairspring positioned at 6 o'clock. This showcases the expertise of Precision Engineering AG, H. Moser & Cie.'s sister company.
The hairspring, which rises perpendicularly around the upper stem of the balance spindle, offers the advantage of developing concentrically alongside the reduction of friction of the pivots and an improvement of isochronism properties due to the hairspring being fitted with two Breguet overcoils, attached at two points.
The most interesting part of the hairspring is that it is shaped by hand, resulting in it taking 10 times as long to produce as compared to a traditional hairspring. It also acts as a display of the brand combining traditional expertise with an ultra-modern watch.
The skeletonised main dial is finished with a small translucent domed dial, which follows the curve of the sapphire crystal and sports a signature blue representing both H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsports. The blue appears bright and distinctive due to the clarity of the synthetic spinel used, which also brings intensity and added value to the timepiece.
Featuring only a discreet engraving of the brand's name on the reverse side, the exclusivity and minimalistic look of the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition is further emphasised. The indices are finished in Super-Luminova while the inserts are finished in Globolight, ensuring visibility, even in the dark.
Finished in a blue moulded rubber strap, imitating the texture of a textile strap, the watch provides users with comfort without the compromise of sophistication.
With the ability to resist water up to 12ATM, the watch is also perfect for sports, just as well as it is for dressy occasions.
In case you're wondering, getting your hands onto the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition (or rather, getting it onto your hand) won't be easy. Only 100 units of this limited edition collaboration watch will be produced.
