Hitachi Rail gets long-term contract to maintain NEL

Hitachi Rail has announced that it has been awarded a long-term service support (LTSS) contract, which will commence in 2026, to manage obsolescence treatment for the North-East Line's (NEL) Integrated Supervision Control System (ISCS).

This initiative marks a significant milestone for Hitachi Rail's growing local footprint and ongoing commitment to expanding technical capabilities within Singapore, all while sustaining rail reliability.

The programme will strengthen long-term support for the ISCS over the next 15 years, supporting operational targets while reducing reliance on short-term fixes and supporting reliable rail operations. ISCS will integrate the monitoring and control of key line systems, supporting safe and efficient operations across the railway.

On this support contract, Hitachi Rail has said that this will help address system obsolescence in a structured way and support reliable operations on the NEL.
