Chinese luxury automotive brand Hongqi has made its first foray onto Singapore's shores with Eurokars Group as its official distributor, and with the unveiling of the E-HS9 SUV at the 2026 Singapore Motor Show.
Standing as Hongqi's current flagship SUV, the all-electric, full-sized E-HS9 is powered by next gen AI intelligence and has a bold exterior design highlighted by the iconic Red Line and Matrix LED headlights. Intelligent design features include signature C-pillar LED light bars that display battery charge status at a glance, rear LED lights, and concealed door handles.
In terms of power, the E-HS9 comes with a 120kWh battery that delivers up to 548km of range on a single charge. Additionally, said battery powers two electric motors on the car that can send up to 357kW and 606Nm of torque to all of its four wheels.
The E-HS9 also comes with Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X connectivity, enabling communication with surrounding vehicles, infrastructure, and pedestrians to enhance safety and situational awareness. Inside, the cabin features a panoramic intelligent display, premium leather seating with ventilation and massage functions, and one of the widest panoramic sunroofs in its class.
While the E-HS9 presents a tantalising vision of what is to come for Hongqi in Singapore, the brand's booth at the motor show should also be exciting for visitors for its special showcase of another two models that won't go on sale here.
That's right - Hongqi is also showcasing the Guoli and Guoya, two ultra-luxury full-size sedans from its Golden Sunflower Range. An interesting fact about the Guoli is that it is the official state car of Chinese President Xi Jinping and is currently only sold in China.
Hongqi also unveiled the Guoli and Guoya, although both models won't be making an appearance in the Singapore market any time soon
As mentioned, it's highly unlikely that we'll see both previously mentioned models for sale in Singapore any time soon, but you could see the E-HS9 taking to the roads with Singaporean plates in the not-too-distant future. We understand that Hongqi's dedicated showroom is scheduled to open in Q2 2026, along with the model's launch. Sgcarmart understands that Eurokars Group is intending to bring the six-seater variant into Singapore.
To commemorate the brand's debut, 2026 Singapore Motor Show visitors are invited to participate in a symbolic ceremony at Hongqi's booth. Guests may place a red flag onto the Singapore map installation, marking the brand's official entry into the market, with the five most engaging posts per day receiving a limited-edition E-HS9 model car.
