HT Group is an inescapable regional name for all in the tyre industry. The firm distributes a wide variety of tyres for commercial vehicles in countries including Malaysia and the Philippines, and closer to home, is the distributor for brands including Hankook, Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Laufenn, Triangle, Vredestien.
It additionally operates from two warehouses here in Singapore. Located in Tuas, these support a total of more than 300 dealers here.
Needless to say, this vast reach of HT Group was not built overnight, but comes as a product of concerted effort from the members of an extended family as well as their dedicated staff.
And after 70 years of operations, the firm has opted to mark its 70th anniversary with a dinner held at Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore.
The night saw a host of activities that started off with a cake cutting, followed by a host of games that saw guests competing to see who could proclaim their love for HT Group the longest on a single breath, or trying their best to imitate the sound of a Formula One car, all to win some lucrative vouchers for their entire table.
The games were then followed by a gift exchange between HT Group and its various dealer partners, and HT Group even took the opportunity to present some of its most loyal staff with long service awards. Attendees to the dinner even got to take part in a lucky draw that saw prizes ranging from vouchers and folding bikes to a Rolex timepiece being given away.
HT Group was only recently announced as the appointed local distributor for VARTA batteries here in Singapore, adding to the long count of automotive tyres and batteries the firm distributes here, all intended, as the firm states, to drive you further. After 70 years in the business, it's quite safe to say the firm knows a thing or two about long-term success.
