Komoco Motors Pte Ltd has launched the Ioniq 6 here in Singapore.
At 4,855mm long, the Ioniq 6 sits between the BMW 3 Series and the outgoing BMW 5 Series in total length. It is also the second car from the Ioniq sub-brand to reach Singapore. It takes after the Hyundai's Prophecy EV Concept for its design, and thus features an aerodynamically sculpted silhouette with simple yet sensuous curves.
A low nose at the front is balanced by an elliptical wing-inspired spoiler at the rear of the car. These combine with a covered undercarriage to give the car a slippery drag coefficient of 0.22.
Over 700 Parametric Pixels are also said to be integrated throughout the car, featuring in its headlamps, rear combination lamps, front lower sensors, air vent garnishes and center console indicator, all to reinforce the Ioniq 6's brand identity.
The Ioniq 6 is also the second Hyundai to be launched here that is based on the E-GMP platform, which combines with that slippery body to give it the necessary efficiency and range to allow it to fit into even the most hectic of lifestyles.
This platform houses a 77.4kWh battery in the Ioniq 6, giving the vehicle a claimed range of 519km. This battery can also be charged at a maximum speed of 350kW via a direct current source, which is enough to see it reaching an 80% state-of-charge from flat in just 18 minutes.
Charging via an alternating current supply, meanwhile, can be done at up to 11kW, which will see a full charge being completed in seven hours and 10 minutes. This battery will supply power to a dual-motor drivetrain that delivers a total system output of 321bhp and 605Nm of torque, which is enough to see the car accelerating to 100km/h from a standstill in just 5.1 seconds. For comparison, the slightly smaller Tesla Model 3 RWD posts a century sprint time of 6.1 seconds.
In the cabin, the Ioniq 6 comes with a flat floor, while a 12.3-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital cluster features on the dashboard. A dual-colour ambient lighting system also features here, which allows users to choose from 64 different colours, although six-dual colour themes are available, all developed by colour experts to help drivers and passengers feel relaxed.
The car also makes extensive use of eco-friendly materials including leather that is processed in an eco-friendly manner and recycled plastic on its seats, while bio-paint derived from vegetable oils features on its doors. The car also makes use of recycled plastic from fishing nets for its carpets.
The Ioniq 6 is available here in five exterior colours: Gravity Gold Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, and Biophilic Blue Pearl.
