Hyundai Motor Europe has defied all odds by achieving strong sales results in Europe despite the automotive industry seeing an overall decrease in demand.
During the first half of 2022, the company's market share grew to a record-breaking 4.7%, a significant increase from the 3.7% of last year. 263,005 units in total were sold in the European Union, EFTA region and the U.K. from January to June 2022, an 8.2% increase compared to the same timeframe in 2021.
As a leader in electric vehicles with the widest range of zero-emission vehicles on the market, Hyundai has cashed in hard by taking advantage of Europe's growing demand for electric cars. The market share of electrified cars in Europe currently stands at 16%.
Looking forward, Hyundai is confident that it will capture even more market share of electrified cars in the months ahead. Bolstering this confidence is due to Hyundai having launched highly acclaimed electric cars such as the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.
