Inchcape+ unveils the BYD T9R at new Commercial Mobility Hub

Inchcape+, the authorised distributor of BYD commercial trucks, has just officially opened its new showroom, dubbed the BYD Commercial Mobility Hub, with the BYD T9R electric truck taking centrestage.

This newly launched hub is designed to showcase BYD's cutting-edge electric commercial vehicle technologies, and serves as a platform for collaboration and innovation in green mobility.

An MOU between Inchcape+ and ComfortDelGro Corporation was signed, marking the start of the partnership companies to offer sustainable and cost-effective EV commercial truck solutions to businesses

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Inchcape+ and ComfortDelGro Corporation was also signed during the grand opening event. ComfortDelGro is poised to be the charging provider, expanding charging infrastructure and offer project financing to aid in the growth and adoption of EV commercial vehicles.

Speaking at the launch, Li Zhengxi, Director of Commercial Vehicles at Inchcape, expressed, "The grand opening of the BYD Commercial Mobility Hub and the launch of the T9R underscore our steadfast dedication to driving sustainable mobility in Singapore."

Now in its third generation, the BYD T9R offers a highly useable range of up to 320km while fully loaded

First shown at last year's SITCE (Singapore International Transportation and Commercial Expo), the BYD T9R is an electric Very Heavy Goods Vehicle (VHGV) with a maximum laden weight of 28,000kg. Now in its third generation, the BYD T9R packs a new-generation Blade Battery that achieves the highest safety standards and a long range of up to 320km (at its maximum laden weight) - a huge leap of improvement when compared against the first-generation T9R that were introduced here in 2019 with a range of just over 200km.

With two 260kW motors, the T9R offers plenty of power, it can also be charged from 20% to 80% in just 60 minutes

Equipped with two 260kW motors powering the two rear axles, the T9R has plenty of hauling power, with the ability to scale up to 30% grades with full load. With a charging rate up to 184kW, the T9R can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 60 minutes when charged with a 180kW charger.

The T9R is positioned to be a powerful and eco-friendly solution to meet the operational needs of businesses in sectors such as logistics and waste management. It is designed for efficiency and long-term cost savings, providing a reliable and sustainable option for businesses to transition to electric fleets.

At the time of writing, there are already orders placed for the new T9R. With ComfortDelGro's strategic partnership, various financing solutions such as leasing arrangements are also in the works.
