Jaguar unveils fastest performance saloon - the XFR-S at Goodwood

The £79,995 (S$129,541) British scud missile is capable of sprinting to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds and climbs to an electronically limited top speed of 300km/h. The XFR-S builds on the performance of the acclaimed XFR to create an even more focused product.

Finished in Italian Racing Red, the XFR-S is Jaguar's fastest ever sports saloon. The prototype model was piloted by 1988 Le Mans race winner, Andy Wallace, in front of a media audience.

Power and torque values from the XFR sourced 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine have been increased by 39bhp and 55Nm respectively to produce 542bhp and 680Nm - without hindering fuel consumption or CO₂ emissions.

Gracing the event alongside the XFR-S were heroes of Jaguar's sporting past, namely a 1962 Jaguar Mk. II prepared by Jaguar Heritage Racing, and a 1954 'short nose' Jaguar D-Type chassis No.1. These cars were put on display by the Jaguar Heritage Trust in front of Goodwood House.
