Kia Carens gets new, boxy SUV-like style

Kia has launched a new Carens in India.
Labelled by Kia as a Recreational Vehicle, the made-in-India global product from Kia is said to combine the sophistication of a family mover and the sportiness of an SUV into one compelling package.
At the front, the car gets its daytime running lights design based on Kia's new signature lighting concept, 'The Star Map'. A horizontal chrome garnish in the upper grille and the frame-type chrome garnish in the lower bumper are used there to create the Kia signature tiger face.
An SUV-like side profile, high front-end with a pushed back A-pillar, and a straight roofline with optimum ground clearance meanwhile, makes the Kia Carens capable recreational vehicle.
At the rear, the Kia Carens sports combination lamps make the car look wide and strong, and complement the three-dimensional chrome garnish on the lower bumper.
At the front, a wide, high-gloss black panel defines the design of the dashboard. The seats in the Kia Carens meanwhile, take their inspiration from airplane seats. Features here include retractable tables for those in the second row, which come with integrated cup holders and space for various gadgets. A one-touch electric seat folding system will also ensure easy access for passengers seating in the third row.
The car is also being offered with an eight-speaker Bose Premium Sound System alongside a 64-colour ambient mood lighting system.
No powertrain details have been revealed as yet, however, Kia does state that the Carens will be offered with both petrol and diesel powertrains combined with transmission options that include a seven-speed dual-clutch and a six-speed automatic.
