Kia Picanto gets stylish exterior and new technology upgrade

Kia has revealed a new Picanto.
Designed to appeal to young adults, first car buyers, urban commuters and working professionals, the new supermini is now also designed under the firm's 'Opposites United' philosophy.
The car thus gets head lights that are similar in shape to those on the EV9 SUV. Also mirrored from the SUV here is the firm's latest interpretation of its 'tiger nose' grille, now slimmer than the ones that used to grace the firm's previous generation of vehicles.
At the rear, the Kia Picanto now gets taillights that stretch to surround the tailgate. These combine with a sizeable rear bumper to give the supermini a strong and wide visual stance from the rear.
The Kia Picanto will be available with rims ranging from 14 to 16-inches, and can additionally be had in a 'GT-Line' trim, which adds a sporty rear diffuser and 16-inch diamond cut wheels.
In the cabin, Kia is offering customers the option to choose from a range of modern colours, with colour packs including Adventurous Green and Rich Brown being offered in the U.K. These packs will add customised artificial leather seats and door armrests, as well as coloured surrounds on the air vents and gear selector of the car.
Up on the dashboard, the supermini will come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen navigation system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system will also allow two mobile phones to be paired at the same time via Bluetooth - one for hands-free phone and media use, and the other for media use only. Online Voice Recognition, meanwhile, will allow users to search for places of interest, addresses, or receive weather updates all via voice commands.
Users will also be able to utilise a new Kia Connect app with the Picanto to access features such as Last Mile Navigation (for directions to their destination if they have parked their car at another location) as well as to receive traffic information and weather forecasts.
The Kia Picanto is being offered with either a 1.0-litre or a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Both engines come paired with either a five-speed manual transmission, or a five-speed automated manual transmission.
