Kia has revealed the first details of the all-new K3.
Kia states that the new K3 has been designed to offer design and sophistication unprecedented in its class.
And what a design indeed. You'll note the car has not strayed far from that of its larger K5 sibling, with the use of a purposeful Tiger Nose at the front. The head lights here, however, sport a light signature that runs down towards the front bumper, an design touch we first saw in the EV9 electric SUV.
At the rear, the car gets a fastback-style roof that dramatically slopes downwards, giving it a sporty silhouette. The rear also maintains a clean look thanks to the use of a thin taillights, connected by an LED element.
The new Kia K3 will measure in at 4,545mm long and 1,765mm wide, putting it on par with the 4,553mm long and 1,7748mm wide Honda City. These dimensions, Kia states, have been translated into generous space for both front and rear passengers, alongside a 544-litre boot.
In the cabin, the Kia K3 gets a 4.2-inch digital cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen integrated harmoniously into one single unit. This unit will offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and can connect to two devices at the same time via Bluetooth.
The K3 will additionally come with customisable ambient lighting with up to 64 different colours to choose from, while those at the rear will get their own dedicated air-conditioning vents.
The Kia K3 is set to be offered with a host of engines including a 121bhp 1.6-litre four-cylinder coupled with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission or a 150bhp 2.0-litre matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. Kia will also offer the K3 with a 1.4-litre engine. The K3 will be built in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Cycle and Carriage states that the Kia K3 will only be available in left-hand drive and will not be arriving in Singapore.
