Limited edition Audi R8 competition to debut at Los Angeles Auto Show

Audi of America has announced the 60-unit limited 2015 R8 competition, which will debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. The R8 competition redefines the iconic R8 as the pinnacle of Audi performance with 570bhp and racing-inspired, lightweight matte carbon elements.

The high-performance R8 competition features a 570bhp rated, 5.2-litre V10 mated exclusively to a seven-speed S tronic and a sport exhaust system with black high-gloss tailpipes.

This combination results in a 3.2 second century sprint and a top speed of 320km/h - making it the fastest R8 ever offered.

The R8 competition is powered by the naturally aspirated V10 FSI engine - similar to the Audi R8 LMS race car, which has won major GT races around the world, including Daytona and 24 Hours Nurburgring.

Further enhancing the unmistakable Audi R8 competition design are striking matte carbon exterior elements consisting of, among others, a fixed rear spoiler, mirror housings, flics and side blades.

The combination of the carbon elements lowers the weight of the R8 Ccmpetition and also provide greater downforce. Gloss black wheels conceal ceramic brakes with anodised red brake callipers to provide a stunning contrast to the matte carbon fibre elements.

The R8 competition is an Audi exclusive line vehicle, which allows the driver to pair a variety of interior and exterior colours and choose from a selection of wheel finishes for a striking look. The Audi R8 competition will be open for bookings from November with deliveries expected as of the beginning of 2015.
