This unit can power the CX-7 from 0-100km/h in 11.3 seconds, on to a top speed of 199km/h. Mazda says that the new CX-7 diesel offers a fuel economy figure of 7.5 litres per 100km. As a result of the new engine, the existing 2.3 litre inline-four turbocharged petrol engine with 260bhp sourced from the Mazda 3 MPS has been dropped from the CX-7 range in the UK.
The facelifted CX-7 also gets minor cosmetic changes, with a larger five-point lower grille, a restyled front bumper, reworked headlamps, a new roof spoiler, more chrome detailing and new 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels. There is also a new steering wheel with integrated control switches, new instrument meters
and upgraded materials and trim.
