Mazda has announced that it will display a lineup of cars at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show come 28 October 2023, and has accompanied this announcement with a teaser image of a concept that just could be the next MX-5.
The firm has announced that several examples of past MX-5s will be on display at the show, including one of the first-generation vehicle, and an upgraded version of the fourth-generation model. Accompanying these cars will also be a new concept car, which Mazda only states, is designed to symbolise the theme of the exhibit.
These cars will also sit beside a two-thirds scale model MX-5, designed to offer children a simulated driving experience. A MX-5 SeDV - short for Self-empowerment Driving Vehicle - will also be present at the exhibition. This special vehicle is said to be controlled using only the driver's hands.
Mazda will also be displaying a Mazda2 Bio Concept, which is fuelled by a next-generation bio-diesel at the exhibition's motorsport area. The Mazda2 Bio Concept is said to be a 'laboratory on wheels', allowing the firm to explore the viability of alternative sustainable energy sources as it looks to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
