Mercedes-AMG reveals new SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur

Celebrating the start of Pebble Beach Automotive Week, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Mercedes-AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur. The special edition model will be on display at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge in Pebble Beach from 17 to 19 August 2023.

Named after a rugged stretch of California's central coast, the special edition Mercedes-AMG SL comes finished in Manufaktur Orange Flame Metallic. This paint is said to be applied in a dedicated Manufaktur line at the factory, while the car's components are additionally hand-sprayed to ensure a quality finish.

The cabin of the Mercedes-AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur gets Mystic Red/Black Nappa leather with orange contrast stitching on its seats and door panels

Contrasting this orange finish is the AMG Exterior chrome Package, black brake callipers and 21-inch AMG forged wheels, and a black soft top. The car also gets an AMG emblem above its radiator grille, a first for the AMG SL.

In the cabin, the Mercedes-AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur sports hand-stitched Manufaktur Red/Black Nappa leather with orange contrast stitching, used for the seats, steering wheel, armrest, centre door panels, and lower instrument panel. These match deep pile floor mats that come with an embroidered AMG logo, Mystic Red Nappa leather piping, and orange contrast stitching.

The trim on the centre console is additionally finished in the same Orange Flame Metallic as the exterior, and comes complete with the 'Manufaktur' script in high-gloss chrome. The car also comes with a Burmester 3D surround sound system.

Powering this Mercedes-AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur is a 577bhp 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 coupled to a nine-speed multi-clutch transmission. The Mercedes-AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur marks the launch of the Manufaktur programme for the AMG SL range in the U.S.A.
