The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX has just bested its previously set efficiency record.
The all-electric vehicle had previously covered a journey that just pipped the 1,000km mark from Stuttgart, Germany to Cassis, France. But this record now sees the car covering a total of 1,202km, driving from Stuttgart to Silverstone in the U.K.
But that was not the end of the journey for the Vision EQXX, for waiting to greet the vehicle there was Mercedes-EQ Formula E team Driver Nyck de Vries, who then took it for a total of 11 laps of the circuit, using the last of the charge in the vehicle on the pit lane. And the Vision EQXX was driven hard, with Mercedes-Benz stating that it managed to hit its maximum speed of 140km/h on the track.
Mercedes-Benz states that the car managed to hit an average consumption of 12km/kWh throughout the road trip, despite facing heavy traffic and summer temperatures, thanks to its innovative thermal management system.
