Mercedes gives us a sneak peek at the interior of the upcoming S-Class

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the first look to the stunning interior for the upcoming S-Class, in which the marque's 'best or nothing' approach is evident.

For the first time, the development focus was on the long wheelbase sedan which was then spilled over to the normal version.

This is because in Europe and North America owners of S-Class are frequently behind the wheel, while the flagship is mostly chauffeur-driven in Asia.

As such, it is of utmost importance for the passengers at the rear to be treated to a first class ambience as well.

Two high resolution colour displays, measuring 12.3 inches, form the new information centre in the S-Class. The split display performs the functions of an instrument cluster, and allows convenient control of infotainment and comfort functions.

There is a choice of five different rear seat variants, including an executive seat with a backrest angle adjustable by up to 43.5 degrees for the long-wheelbase version. Two rear seat variants - static bench seat or individual seats with 37 degrees adjustment - are available for the standard wheelbase.

The ENERGIZING massage function features 14 separate actuated air cushions in the backrest, as well as an integrated warming function that was developed after collaborating with physiotherapists and psychologists. There is also a choice of six massage programmes, where two utilise the warming function.

As alternatives to the standard ten loudspeakers sound system, two avantgarde audio systems are available from hi-fi specialists from Burmester - the Burmester Surround Sound system and Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound system.
