Mercedes-Maybach unveils the new S-Class
27 Mar 2026|146 views
The all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is described as a vehicle conceived as a place of absolute relaxation, supreme craftsmanship, and technological sophistication. This will also see the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) used for the first time in a Maybach model.
A striking visual highlight is its enlarged radiator grille, sporting illuminated accents such as its contour, Maybach lettering, and - depending on the market - the upright Mercedes-Benz star on the hood and the emblem on the C-pillar. Rose gold elements in the twin-star headlights add a refined, jewelry-like touch. In addition, the Maybach pattern in the air intakes appears in gleaming chrome.
The S-Class' more expressive exterior, optimised light signatures, and expanded MANUFAKTURING and Made to Measure options emphasise discreet exclusivity
A discreet projector in the side sills projects the Maybach logo onto the ground when entering and exiting the vehicle, while at the rear, finely sculpted taillights mirror the star motifs of the front. The redesigned two-tone door handle is also now in chrome and high-gloss black.
The S-Class also gets two new forged wheels in a multi-spoke design: A 21-inch MANUFAKTUR wheel with an elegant gold finish, and a 20-inch wheel with classically elegant, polished finish. The floating star at the centre of all forged wheels in silver finish remains upright thanks to a precisely engineered ball bearing mechanism.
Also, for the first time, the Night Series design package, which offers a darker interpretation of Maybach elegance, can now be combined with Nautical Blue metallic.
This new S-Class also gets a comprehensive redesign of its interior, from the steering wheel to the centre console. Analog and digital elements merge in perfect harmony, while the upgraded centre console - a standard MBUX Superscreen combining the 14.4-inch central display and the 12.3-inch passenger display - offers optimised smartphone storage with an integrated charging function. It is also framed by a sculpted trim element that is available in elegant finishes such as open-pore oak or open-pore amber brown wood with a herringbone pattern.
It also features a new interior colour, Beech Brown, which brings a haute couture-inspired sophistication to its colour palette. Active ambient lighting with 199 LEDs, 10 colour schemes, and 64 individually selectable colours - including the exclusive Maybach shades Rose Gold White and Amethyst Glow - creates a comfortable and customisable atmosphere. The light responds to voice commands, climate settings, and driver assistance system alerts.
The engine range has also been comprehensively revised, with the top-of-the-line Mercedes-Maybach S680 featuring the latest evolution of the brand's eight-cylinder engine, which offers a maximum output of 467kW and 1,055Nm of torque. Technical updates and mild-hybrid technology (ISG 2.0) ensure smooth, linear power delivery with efficient energy recuperation.

The S-Class also offers a plug-in hybrid variant (available in selected markets), the Mercedes-Maybach S580e with EQ Hybrid technology, which combines a six-cylinder engine and electric motor to deliver 55kW more power than the previous engine generation. Customers can also benefit from a purely electric range of around 100km.
Mercedes-Benz has said that from March 2026, the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can be ordered in selected European markets, with further markets to follow.
