Mercedes reveals facelifted GLE and GLE Coupe

Mercedes-Benz has updated both the GLE and GLE Coupe.
Both the GLE and GLE Coupe now get a new front bumper, while the grills of both cars also now feature a twin horizontal louvre design, complete with chrome inserts. The LED High‑Performance headlamps and LED taillights on both cars also now get a redesigned light signature.
The GLE now sports a new light signature, while the grille now sports a twin louvre design Opt for the GLE Coupe and you also now get the AMG Line exterior as standard, so up front there's the AMG diamond grille and AMG front apron, while at the flank there's AMG side sill panels alongside wheel arch cladding the vehicle colour. And at the back, an AMG rear apron.
Step inside either car, and you'll now find Mercedes' latest steering wheel.
The centre and side air vents are here also now galvanised in real metal, a feature borrowed from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Also borrowed from the flagship SUV is a Manufaktur piano lacquer black trim. Opting for these will also open up the option to have your GLE with seats in a nappa leather finish.
In the cabin, the SUV now sports Mercedes' latest steering wheel, as well as an updated MBUX system The dual 12.3-inch displays of the MBUX system have been retained with this facelift, however, the system now supports wireless Apple Car Play and wireless Android Auto.
Mercedes states that the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant system has also been updated, so it is now more interactive and capable of learning by activating online services in the Mercedes me App.
Issue a "Help" command, and the system can also now provide assistance when asked how to connect a smartphone by Bluetooth or where the first-aid kit can be found, among other tasks.
Only one petrol-only variant of the Mercedes-Benz GLE is currently offered: The GLE450. This variant utilises the same 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine as before, still paired to a mild hybrid system, however, peak output has been raised to 375bhp instead of the 362bhp of the outgoing GLE450.
A GLE400e petrol-powered plug-in hybrid is also offered. This variant pairs a 248bhp 2.0-litre engine with a 134bhp electric motor fed by a 31.2kWh battery.
