MINI kicks off production of new Cooper Convertible

MINI has kickstarted production of the new MINI Cooper Convertible at Plant Oxford, home of the MINI Cooper family. This new MINI Cooper Convertible comes with a revised exterior alongside a completely new interior design, giving uses a new, state-of-the-art digital experience.

The model is being built alongside the MINI Cooper 3-Door and MINI Cooper 5-Door at the plant, which marked its 110^th anniversary in 2023. The same year also saw the plant accounting for over 20% of all U.K. manufactured cars.

Three U.K. BMW Group manufacturing sites contribute to the manufacture of the MINI Cooper Convertible. These include BMW Group Plant Swindon, which produces the car's body pressings and sub-assemblies. The car's four-cylinder engines, meanwhile, are built at BMW Group Plant Hams Hall in North Warwickshire. These parts all come together at MINI Plant Oxford where body shell production, paint and final assembly all take place.
