Mitsubishi Minicab-MiEV to go on sale in Japan

Mitsubishi has announced that the new Minicab-MiEV kei-car class electric commercial vehicle will go on sale in Japan come December 2023. The firm states that the car has been launched in response to the growing demand for kei-car class electric commercial vehicles from the logistics sector and government agencies.
This new Minicab-MiEV has received a new 40bhp electric motor and 20kWh battery, which Mitsubishi states gives the vehicle a WLTC range of 180km. This battery can by quick charged to 80% in just 42 minutes.
Mitsubishi states that the Minicab-MiEV generates a total of 195Nm of instantaneous torque, allowing it to deliver performance in a smooth manner for stress-free drives. The motor and inverter of this Minicab-MiEV has also been integrated into a single unit to make the vehicle quieter.
The vehicle also comes with a power outlet located on the floor at the rear that can deliver a total of 1,500W of power, allowing users to power their electronics and appliances during disasters or during other emergencies. The Minicab-MiEV is also available with Type C and Type A USB charging outlets and also gets a smartphone tray for added convenience.
