New Aston Martin Vantage debuts in Singapore

Hot on the heels of the DB12 Volante launched in Singapore just two Saturdays ago, Aston Martin has dropped the new Vantage on our sunny shores.
Unveiled at a private event last evening (29 April 2024) at Wearnes Singapore was the Vantage in a coat of Spirit Silver paint, which is available as a standard option. Aston Martin says customers can choose to "enhance the sporting character of their Vantage by choosing from three core livery designs" that come in 21 colours.
The new Vantage is arguably the brand's lynchpin sports car in its lineup of new models including the DB12 and DB12 Volante. Unlike its predecessor, the 2024 edition of the Aston Martin Vantage promises to debug all that wasn't as great in its previous iteration.
"Engineered for real drivers", the Vantage is back with more power, looking more handsome and with a welcome overhaul of its interior. It also, in our opinion, now looks a lot like the DB12 (more on this later).
True to the brand's claim of an "unadulterated celebration of pure performance, engineered to deliver maximum thrills", the improved Vantage boasts a bump of 30% more power and 16% more torque.
This extra gain in muscle comes courtesy of the extensive tuning and build exclusive to Aston Martin, as well as a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine. The result is the impressive output figures of 656bhp and 800Nm of torque. Aston Martin says this Vantage is "the fastest in the nameplate's history".
Mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, the brand states that this sufficiently propels the two-seater rear-wheel drive (RWD) sports car to a top speed of 325km/h. This is the kind of speed that was once reserved only for Aston Martin's flagship GTs.
Thanks to the power it is equipped with, the Vantage is capable of launching itself to 100km/h from a standstill in a smashing 3.4 seconds. With its new performance figures, it is safe to say that the Vantage has now developed more power than the Mercedes-AMG GT, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and the Ferrari Roma.
The sports car is also optionally available with the all-familiar carbon ceramic brakes seen on the DB12. Drivers will enjoy maximum engagement not only from the spectacular performance figures but also the 50:50 weight distribution that gives the sports car the perfect balance.
At the rear, the Vantage has now been adjusted for greater suspension stiffness - a modest 29% increase - under cornering load. This adjustment is accompanied by revisions to the front and rear undertrays for more lateral stiffness. Together, the combined improvements for the dampers make for tangible gains in precision, handling balance and driver feedback.
These are further bolstered by industry-leading Active Vehicle Dynamics and new Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers.
But Aston Martin says that is not all. Equipped with the Electronic Rear Differential (E-diff), the all-new Vantage is capable of transitioning from a challenging alpine road to a race track simply at the push of a button and twist of a switch.
On the inside, the Vantage sports a refreshed steering wheel that comes with mounted paddles, digital driver's display, and an ergonomically designed centre stack. This may be a first for the Vantage but those who are familiar with the DB12 will recognise these features at first glimpse, perhaps. The seat is, additionally, newly positioned having taken in ergonomic considerations.
For the first time, the Vantage receives a touchscreen that's proprietary of Aston Martin, which means a more bespoke experience for you
Drivers may be intrigued to learn that the new driver's display - a 10.25-inch touchscreen - is proprietary of Aston Martin. The brand states that its new touchscreen is the "fastest", which can be understood as being able to react promptly to touch commands. Adding to the in-cabin experience is the infotainment system that uses Aston Martin's bespoke UI platform.
Standing 30mm wider than before, the new Vantage takes on a more muscular stance that's accentuated by a 38% larger recontoured veined grille aperture on its re-designed front-end.
This tweak offers a 29% increase in mass airflow, allowing for additional cooling. Completing the revamped Vantage front-end treatment is the all-new Matrix LED headlamp design with integrated DRLs, defining a whole new Aston Martin signature look.
The 21-inch forged alloy wheels that now come as standard on the Vantage are also what gives the sports car power and poise in equal measure. These lightweight wheels each shave off 8kg off the car, making it lighter than before.
Equally new to the Vantage are the frameless door mirrors and presenting door handles. The focal point this time round, however, remains the revised vents in each flank, marking a return of the iconic Aston Martin side strake.
It's clear that the brand paid extra attention to the rear bumper, having widened it to incorporate side vents and larger diameter quad exhaust tailpipes so the Vantage's "dramatic look" continues consistently from the front to its rear.
The new Vantage is available on a build-to-order basis, and is ready for private preview at Wearnes Singapore, 45 Leng Kee Road, from now until 5 May 2024. Customers who are interested can schedule a viewing appointment here. Deliveries of the brand new Vantage are expected to arrive in Singapore by the fourth quarter of this year.
"With the all-new Vantage, Aston Martin has reaffirmed its position in the ultra-luxury, performance car market, and the highest echelons of world championship motorsport," said the brand.
