Skoda has offered up a first look at the interiors of the new Kodiaq and Superb, ahead of their full reveal.
Both cars will get redesigned interiors, with the gear selector now moved to the steering column to free up storage space in the centre console for front passengers.
The cars are also set to get a head-up display, complementing a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, while the infotainment display is now a 12.9-inch item. Both cars will also now use three rotary push-buttons which the firm terms as Skoda Smart Dials. These sit below the infotainment screen and each get a 32mm digital display. They allow quick access to numerous vehicle functions including the air-conditioning settings, different driving modes, or the navigation system.
The cars are also set to get an inductive smartphone charger although in the Kodiaq, the system is not only able to charge two phones, but will also come with an active cooling function. Four USB-C ports will be available in both cars, each offering a power output of 45W, while a 15W USB-C port is also available on the rear-view mirror.
The Skoda Superb is also set to get a redesigned steering wheel and optional massage seats which now include 10 pneumatically-controlled massage cushions and an extensive selection of massage programmes.
Customers can also expect to see increased use of environmentally-friendly materials in the cabin of both the Superb and the Kodiaq, ranging from recycled polyester textiles to olive-tanned leather depending on selected trim level.
