New Pirelli tyres are high tech rubbers that is greener than the Hulk

Italian tyre manufacturers and official tyre suppliers for the current F1 season Pirelli have presented their new Cinturato P1 with sizes ranging from 15" to 19" and speed ratings from H to W. The high-tech premium tyre is environmentally friendly and fits mid to large-sized sedans that assures lower fuel consumption despite improved performance. 

Since its successful launch in Europe, Pirelli has launched its Cinturato P1 for the Asia-Pacific market on Wednesday as an added member to the Cinturato family. The P1 displays four key characteristics namely - Safety, driving pleasure, attention to the environment and versatility. The four characteristics complement current market requirements where performance meets safety, energy efficiency and low environmental impact.

The all-round performance offered by the P1 was gained thanks to the use of innovative solutions and technologies and will be produced with advanced equipment and more stringent inspection procedures at the Pirelli factories in Yanzhou, China. The P1’s design is based on the highly successful Cinturato P7 and was developed at Pirelli’s Research and Development center in Milan, home to the development of Formula 1 tyres as well.

Highly advanced production procedures ensure the best grip under all conditions while also, significantly reducing the braking distance. At 100 km/h on the dry, the braking distance of the P1 is reduced by 4% and by 3% at 80 km/h on the wet. The P1 weighs 15% less and with innovative technological solutions implemented, the new P1 achieves a reduction in rolling resistance of up to 25% thus reducing CO2 emissions by up to 4%. The P1 also reduces external noise by 1.5dB and inner noise by 1dB for a enhanced ride comfort and driving pleasure.
