New Suzuki Swift Sport crowned 'Best Buy Hot Hatch'

The new Suzuki Swift Sport has been crowned the ‘Best Buy Hot Hatch’ at the What Car? Magazine awards. Chas Hallet, editor-in-chief of What Car? appraised the performance hatch-back, commended the high standard set by the car in the ‘budget’ segment of the contest with the variety of standard equipments. Cruise control, automatic air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, 17-inch alloy rims and metallic paint are part of the long list.

Under the hood, the new Swift Sport features a Euro-5 compliant 1.6 litre engine coupled to an all-new six-speed manual gearbox. The reworked engine is now more efficient, producing more torque yet boosting an improved fuel economy by 10 per cent.

Safety in the Swift sport is not compromised either, with seven airbags (including curtain and driver’s knee airbag) and ESP as standard. In addition, body pillars incorporate shock-absorbing materials to provide better occupant protection.
